From Pastor James and Wendy
Each year there are thousands and thousands of Assemblies of God churches across our nation that participate in the Assemblies of God National Week of Prayer. This is an event that has been happening for a good number of years.
This special National Week of Prayer allows us to be in the best position possible - "on our knees" in prayer at the beginning of our New Year.
Our prayer life is a daily event, but this special time of prayer allows us to, again, thank the Lord for His past blessings and seek His face for the coming year. This time allows us to lay before the Lord our own needs, those of our family, Church, community and country - in a concentrated fashion with faith that expects results. Through prayer we focus on His glory and the furtherance of His kingdom.
This Week of Prayer also enables us to demonstrate to the Lord that we are serious about the things of God and His purposes, and plans; that we can take time out of our busy schedules for the absolute need to seek His face.
Starting on Sunday January 6th, during our morning worship service, we will take time to call upon the Lord together. Throughout that coming week ( 7th-12th) various homes have been made available for us to join in a special 1 hour time of prayer from 7 - 8 pm. This will be Monday through Friday. On the Saturday evening of that week we will meet at the church. Whichever evenings might be best for you - please join us. The Lord may also lay it upon hearts to spend a time of fasting with prayer.
The Scriptures clearly show us, over and over again, that prayer does change things - God indeed answers prayer. Because we believe this - we are excited about being a part of this National Week of Prayer.
Would you like to be a part of what God is doing - then why not join us in this Week of Prayer? If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
Blessings
Pastor James and Wendy
